This is written for the senario that you have Premium and can label your attacks. If you have more than 5 villages I suggest it. If you have more than 10 I highly recomend it. If you have more than 20 you better have it!

First thing I do is click on the inc and take a look at whats hitting me. Then I open unmarked attacks in a new window and label them U for unknown (since I don't know the time they launched) and the co-ordinats they launched from. If you have 4-5 from the same village to the same village all at the same time, it's probably a noble train.

As attacks keep comming in I lable them with the time I noticed them 7-30 etc, and the co-ordinants
When those are labeled, I start looking at the village about to get hit next. If the village is deffended (stacked) I add Def to the title. If the village is stacked on def you need not worry about those attacks for now.

If they are moving at ram speed I mark them with an R. If there is one or two in front of 4-5 N (nobles) and the village is low on def, then I add a B (bounce) to the title of the Rs and the first N. To bounce you send out the troops in the village to support another village you own 5 minutes before the nobles hit. You then cancle the support when the noble is 2:30 away (half the time). The troops avoid the nukes and slay the nobles, saving the village.

If there is no troops there at all and nobles are on the way, I open the map in a new tab and take a look on how long I have until the noble arrives. I will look for def troops in neighboring vills that can arrive before the noble train. 1000 spear, 500hc etc. This is for a long range noble snipe. I time the support like you would an attack to arrive before the nobles. The traveltime should appear right below the troops type in premium maps.

Once you get good at this you can set up a chain reaction of troops supporting another village at the right times. This is great if your attacker is timing all the attacks to land at the same time and you can't (or don't want to waste the def) stack all of your vills. The attacks pop up slowly, giving you ample time to figure out what is real and what is avoidable. An advanced attacker like that will usually have a troop force with the first noble in the train or with a noble right after an unusually large gap in the arrival times. Avoid hitting any noble that arrives more than 10 seconds after the last noble when facing a skilled opponant.

If all else fails, then I start looking around for nobles. You can time an attack on your own village for a noble attack to land right after their noble train, sometimes you get lucky and get their support landing in your village too. If the noble lands right after they take the village, they may not notice the inc for your grab back and send you support.

Last if the village is lost I mark it with an F for FOOKED. In this senario I will try to prenoble it if possible. This is when you lower the lost villages loyalty yourself. A good attacker will send an Offense force with the first noble and Deffense with the last to prevent a retake. By prenobling the first noble takes the village leaving the offense as support. The middle two nobles are mercilessly slaughtered and the last attacking noble has a 50/50 chance. Either way their Offense is deffending and their Deffense is attacking and gives them lots of pretty red dots on their reports. If your lucky they will think that you sniped the noble train and will not send support to the village making it easier to retake later on.

The most important thing to remember is in a major battle, there will be casulties. In fact if you want to build a good secured cluster you may want to conquer "outposts". These are villages outside of your main cluster and will draw the first fire. A canary in a coal mine if you would. Against less skilled or more sloppy attackers these vills get hit first and give you warning that the area is heating up. Depending on your location you may want these stacked in defense, if you share a border with a tribemate, or a scout village, so they can't see in if your isolated.

Only the confidenant, skilled or overwhelming odds against you will attack without a scout report. 9 out of 10 times they won't attack what they can't see, scouts are required for defense. Of course if you are being scouted multiple times at different intervals, then pull out the scouts but 5. Make sure ALL of your def is in each village as the scout attacks land. They will think you have the defense of a god and leave you alone.

When under unreleanting attack, you will eventually wear down if all you do is deffend. Counter attack, launch 50-100 fakes and then start hitting what's close to you with nukes. Dont' worry about nobling in the first few strikes just put them on the defense. Sort threw the reports and get a quick list of offense vills of theirs and in-game mail it to nearby allies. If you really want to ruin your attackers day, forward your clearing reports as well and get your most aggressive attacker mobbed. Most players are sheep, strike the shepard and the sheep will scatter.
